Classical

Sarah was born in Ontario, Canada and began piano lessons at the age of six. She studied repertoire from the Royal Conservatory of Music with her private teacher for ten years and decided to continue studying music in her post-secondary studies. Sarah is currently in her final year of her Bachelor of Music at the University of Toronto with a minor in Psychology.

From a young age, Sarah developed a passion for music through participating in music classes, serving as a musician at several churches, and helping to lead summer camps. Over the years, she has participated in a variety of musical endeavours, including completing an internship placement at St. Michael’s Choir School for University credit, as a student choral conductor and music theory teacher. She also participated in the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) Summer Organ Academy. With her love for diverse genres of music and experience in piano, organ, voice, and choral conducting, she is thrilled to teach students at Farnoosh Music Academy.

Sarah brings extensive experience working with young children and a passion for music to her teaching practice. Her diverse teaching and related experiences have afforded her numerous insights into working with learners. She strives to create a space where students are encouraged to take risks without fear of making mistakes and to creatively explore their gifts and talents. Sarah challenges students to strengthen their identity and learn introspection by finding personal connections with chosen repertoire and sharing their favourite pieces. She encourages them to develop self-confidence and to experience other benefits of participating in piano lessons including critical thinking, self-expression, and the joy found through music.
